Small Biz Matters is a weekly radio show on community radio station Triple H 100.1FM – it’s the half hour program where you work ON your business rather than IN it.
We are the voice of small business in Hornsby bringing to you the experts, advice, education and current affairs that matter to small business. Guests include local lawyers, accountants, marketing gurus, politicians, and many other experts in their fields who provide listeners with expertise to help their grow their business.

Why did you start Small Biz Matters?
To provide free educational content to the small business community, which was seriously lacking.
What’s the story behind Small Biz Matters?
So, I had a business launch for my bookkeeping practice and invited local media, including the station manager at Triple H 100.1FM the local community radio station. She said, “You can talk under water – you should do radio!” So that was it!
What are the benefits of your products and services?
It’s profit for purpose. It’s not my bread and butter, but a passion of mine which sits nicely on a community platform like radio!
How do you help your customers?
It’s free to the listener and gives the talent (my interviewees) the opportunity to position themselves as the expert in their field and share the podcast as great marketing content.
What is unique about you and your business?
My listeners get free small business education.
Why are you passionate about your area of work?
Longevity – I’ve been live broadcasting on radio for nearly 7 years, completing over 180 podcasts, sponsored by the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman.
How do you keep yourself and your team motivated?
I love teaching!
Why do you love being a local Hornsby Shire business?
Meetings, meetings, meetings… and using my connections to help others!
Why are you a member of the Hornsby Chamber?
I have to be; I’m a committee member. 🙂
Why do you think small businesses are so important to the local communities and Australian economy?
The backbone of the economy, collectively the biggest employer and because Aussies WANT to support local business.
