Janelle McIntosh

Janelle McIntosh is a Hornsby Shire Councillor, first elected in 2004 and currently serving her fourth term on Council.  She is the current (2024/2025) Deputy Mayor.  She has a background in local government, having worked in councils across Sydney for more than three decades as a strategist, economic development manager and town centre coordinator. Janelle is passionate about accessibility, inclusivity and healthy ageing; supporting sustainability and sound local planning; promoting local business and revitalisation of the public domain – injecting viability and vitality into Hornsby’s town centres and villages.  She is well known for her regular communication with the community and her promotion of local events, activities and organisations.  Since 2016 she has operated her own consulting business, Fire Horse Solutions, providing strategic advice, project and grant management assistance and communication/engagement support to local government and the not for profit sector, specifically supporting organisations in the aged care and disability sector.
